How Do Digital Impressions Work?

Oral scanning can often replace the need for taking a conventional impression using mouth trays. The denturist will use a dental intraoral scanner, which creates a 3D file of the mouth that is then used for designing the perfect denture. There are a number of benefits to the patient – reduced chair time and number of visits and adjustments, better fit dentures that are more comfortable, and improved esthetics. Also, if the dentures get lost or damaged, there is no need to start the process from scratch. The digital denture file is stored in a database so that it can easily be re-produced quickly and at a low cost.
We also offer a Denture Scanning service in which clients may bring in their existing denture to be scanned and digitally re-produced. Clients may choose to have the re-produced denture be identical to their old denture, or they may work with the denturist to make slight adjustments from the original dentures.
